Ecuadorian copper and gold exploration continued to make progress.
Sunstone Metals has confirmed a porphyry copper-gold discovery at its El Palmar project in northern Ecuador. Two drill holes saw thick low-grade mineralization, including:
A hole at a depth of 10.65 meters sees 124.4 meters of ore, with a gold grade of 0.41 g/ton, and 0.16% copper; at a depth of 314 meters, it sees 50 meters of ore, with a gold grade of 0.43 g/ton and 0.24% copper.
Another hole at a depth of 194 meters saw 97 meters of mine, with a grade of 0.43 g/t gold and 0.11% copper.
Challenger Exploration's El Guayabo project in Ecuador is said to have discovered an important copper-gold-silver metallogenic system, with supplementary exploration at a depth of 3.3 meters and 310 meters, with a gold equivalent grade of 0.7 g / ton, of which 54 meters were found at a depth of 232 meters, and the gold grade was 1.5 grams per ton.
At present, the mine has been delineated with a length of 500 meters along the strike and a width of 300 meters.
